On March 2, 2025, the 2025 International Artificial Intelligence Programming Elite Challenge (IAEPC) was successfully held at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The IAEPC competition created three firsts: first in scale, with more than 20,000 contestants from 117 countries and regions participating in the preliminaries, and finally 28 young technology elites from 12 countries and regions competed in Hong Kong; first in influence, for the first time, it attracted global AI young elites, global AI technology masters, experts, and scholars to gather in Hong Kong to discuss the development of AI technology and advocate "technology for good"; first in social value, for the first time, it emphasized that AI is the "fifth paradigm revolution", and it is necessary to pay attention not only to the application of AI in various industries, but also to the relationship between AI and humans.

Luo Xiang, Chairman of the Management Committee of the United Nations Global Leadership and ESG Development Center, was invited to attend the competition and delivered an important speech. In his speech, Chairman Luo Xiang fully affirmed all the young science and technology elites who participated in the IAEPC competition. He believes that this competition is of extraordinary significance to the contestants. The entries not only demonstrate technological innovation, but also highlight future value. Chairman Luo Xiang emphasized that the development of AI requires not only technological breakthroughs, but also attention to its impact on human society. He encouraged young science and technology elites to always adhere to humanistic care while pursuing technological innovation, so that AI technology can serve the welfare of mankind. In addition, he also advocated that young people embrace a global vision, jointly respond to the challenges facing mankind, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind through scientific and technological cooperation.
The IAEPC competition has the mission of "promoting the revitalization of science and technology and enhancing public awareness" and the theme of "intelligent future, programming dreams". It has designed four major tracks: AI, people, AI + people, and AI marathon, aiming to promote the deep integration of AI technology and various fields of society and realize the "practical value" and "social value" of AI. The competition not only provides a platform for communication and cooperation for young AI elites around the world, but also provides strong support for the development and implementation of AI technology.
Luo Xiang's three major initiatives: AI's "3G" principles. Three principles that young developers should follow:
1. Goodness: AI technology must be based on moral ethics, avoid algorithmic bias and technology abuse, and ensure that technology development is always "for good".
2. Global Betterment: AI should focus on global challenges such as climate change and medical equity, such as optimizing disaster prediction models or personalized medical solutions to help the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
3. Generational Mission: The younger generation needs to deeply integrate technology research and development with humanistic care, and become the leader of the "fifth paradigm revolution" rather than a passive participant.
Luo Xiang specifically pointed out: "AI is not only a collection of codes, but also an extension of human values. What we need is not only smarter machines, but also warmer technology."
The IAEPC competition is jointly initiated by the Western Alumni Foundation and the International Artificial Intelligence and Data Industry Association, and hosted by Ivy International Education. It is a global event that aims to focus on the world's top AI talents and elites, explore the application of AI in various industries through a series of innovations, challenges and cooperation, and promote the development and implementation of AI technology.
The Western Alumni Foundation is one of the organizers of this IAEPC competition. As a social organization with international attributes, the Western Alumni Foundation is committed to building an international stage for young people. Through the "Top Innovative Talents" special fund, it supports the holding of international science and innovation competitions, helps young students enter the world's top universities for further studies, and promotes the practical application of technological achievements in the fields of medicine, education, environmental protection, etc. through cross-border cooperation projects.
